Def Leppard: Not Dead Yet

In fact, it seems to be quite the opposite. With the recent inundation of Britney, Heath Ledger, and political drama you might have forgotten about this classic rock band from the 80s. Well, no such luck. According to Blabbermouth.net, the band has not only recorded a new album “Songs from the Sparkle Lounge” (due for release May 5th) , but also is planning an extensive European and North American tour. You might expect a group like Def Leppard to be visiting the local Hard Rock Cafe and venues with names such as The Darkhorse Tavern, but not this time! The group is actually going to be making an appearance on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Ironically, appearing on the show normally means that you have a thriving career, as opposed to the more intuitive assumption that your career must be over. The band is also scheduled to visit Jimmy Kimmel Live! in late April. Whatever you think about these two shows on ABC, you have to admit that the band is getting some pretty good publicity given that they have been out of the pop culture scene for years. Promotional appearances of that calibre should do wonders for a group of guys that still, remarkably, seem to have some life left in them.
